Sanctum – a sacred place where one is free from intrusion… or being alive.

Where can you find a girl who drives 30km/way alone to UUM to bring both her cousins out for an outing to Jitra? Yes, I am self praising. It is indeed quite far but I am happy with it though I came back with swollen eyes due to exhaustion. It was great, even with single movie, nearby walkabout and thai-style dinner. Looking at my cousins, happily take in nice food, makes me think that I am elder sister, although a poor one. We’re like siblings. Since we’re the few who lives far away from home, I guess all this is normal. We went for Sanctum. Thank god that we made a good choice. It only airs in 3D, which made my head spins and nose ache, but I’m glad I insist on this movie. If you see people crying while watching that, don’t be surprise.

The characters in the movie had to make tough decisions in order to keep them alive. The corpses are a little terrifying, the situations are quite forcing and the decisions made are about inhuman. I admit that I cried while watching it. There are parts that portrait mercy killing where they kill to end the suffering felt by victims. One is Luko, another is Frank. This movie leaves very deep impression to me. I remembered every scene I saw, every name I encountered and the way all victims end their life. Every move they took is life threatening.

From the creator of TITANIC and AVATAR, James Cameron once again proves that he’s one of the greatest filmmakers. Overall, Sanctum tell story about cave divers, the life of being there deep beneath the earth and the worst thing could happen to them. Surprisingly to find out the both writers, John Garvin and Andrew Wight are cave divers and what they wrote reveals the ecstasy of cave exploration and the danger awaits them. One more interesting part is get to see the real things on screen. There are no tricks in this movie. They are actually down there, somewhere underwater and start rolling. The actors did a excellent job. They may not have experience of being there, diving and going through the tight restrictions, pushing sentinel rebreather in front but they did it. A big applause to the actors, they are simply amazing. YOU should watch this with your own eyes.

The client

John Grisham, one of America’s well known authors, is a name I heard for the first time after living on earth for over twenty years. Thanks to Borders bookstore, my colleagues recommended several good authors that you must not miss their writing. Only two man’s book I’m interested in, Mitch Albom and John Grisham.  From what others told me, his books are touching and inspiring. So far, I don’t know any owner with Mitch Albom’s book so let’s just leave him aside. Now I am reading ‘The client’, a book by John Grisham.

About ‘The Client’
(Taken from John Grisham: The official site)

In a weedy lot on the outskirts of Memphis, two boys watch a shiny Lincoln pull up to the curb…Eleven-year-old Mark Sway and his younger brother were sharing a forbidden cigarette when a chance encounter with a suicidal lawyer left Mark knowing a bloody and explosive secret: the whereabouts of the most sought-after dead body in America. Now Mark is caught between a legal system gone mad and a mob killer desperate to cover up his crime. And his only ally is a woman named Reggie Love, who has been a lawyer for all of four years. Prosecutors are willing to break all the rules to make Mark talk. The mob will stop at nothing to keep him quiet. And Reggie will do anything to protect her client — even take a last, desperate gamble that could win Mark his freedom… or cost them both their lives.

Fortuitous update

What’s the point of having pets when you don’t spare time to clean them, feed them and spend some time with them? I felt sorry for the pets to have such owner.

..........

It has been a while. I miss it so much. Somehow I got addicted to it. Croquettes. I start to crave for it whenever I start to think what’s for lunch or dinner. How I wish to get back to Penang as soon as possible.
I wanted to go home. Desperately.

Nintendo Wii..?

Actually this post should come before hop higher post. I encounter this amazing thing on the very first day of chinese new year yet I have no time to write them out nor take any pictures of them. They are Nintendo Wii. For those who don’t know Nintendo Wii, do consult my PA, google. Now, what’s so amazing about those guys? Trust me, you have to feel it with your bare hands. Thought deeper, this seems like a good start towards virtual world game where all of us may experience games fully, not just with our fingers only. I was invited by my niece and cousin for a few set of games. And for a beginner, please don’t expect great results from me. Most of the games I lost to my niece. I think she might get bored if she got me as company for a long time. LOL. Well, in a game I managed to beat her badly that is tennis. I used to play badminton so swinging racquets isn’t that tough for me. Hurray for me. Ok I know, I bullied someone younger.

Now presenting our main character, Nintendo Wii..!!

Nintendo Wii

Wii controller - indeed it is nice to hold (^-^)

Wii wheeler - I used in Mario racing. With this, you don't really need to head to arcade for daytona.

Wii Zapper - need no introduction right?

Hop higher

Updating my blog in the lunar month is something I did for the very first time. Salt and vinegar doesn’t have a long history back therefore there’s many first for me to attempt. Being a not-creative-nor-innovative person, writing is the only way to keep this place alive, though what I have written may not be interesting.
New year isn’t that exciting for me anymore. The cultural is still there, the celebration is still there, the tradition is still there but the feelings aren’t there anymore. Perhaps I got mature more; usually we do gamble a lil with family and friends or drinks a lil wine or something. But this year I have no intention to do so. Be frank, until today, I did not touch mahjong tiles at all. For the past few years, I would play mahjong on the very first day of chinese new year. Strange. But one thing never change, I don’t enjoy my studies. I think, I’ve chosen the wrong field of study.  (=.=)

P.S : by the way, new pet in the house, presenting Luki! (^-^)
Have fun catching and chasing after Luki. Haha. Please don’t think that I’m lunatic.
