Cheers..!!

Merry Christmas!
When it comes to festive season, one can’t just skip the toasting part right? And what makes toast best? Beer is the only word flew across my mind.

let's toast..!!
Heineken, Tiger, Carlsberg and Guinness are available everywhere so I won’t touch on that. Beer lovers, heard of names such as Oranjeboom, Dester and Stella Artois right? Paulaner? This word has never enters my dictionary even once for the past of 21 years. Weeks ago, I learnt about it. I looked at its physical and keep wondering how it tastes like. Priced at RM18 per bottle, it gave me a no-different-compare-to-other-beers feel. Guess what, Hefe-Weissbier Alkoholfrei, member of Paulaner beer did not contain alcohol. A non-alcoholic beer? That attracts me a lot. I can’t to see one myself.

Visit to ...

Recently I don’t really feel like writing. Maybe it’s a good idea that I leave blog for a while. I’m still considering. Let’s continue today’s topic. I were in KL for the past two days. And for both days, Sunway was where I am. Well, I kinda like that place. The place is HUGE~!!!! I’m amaze…

Since I’m there, for sure I can’t skip the famous ice skating in Sunway. Frankly speaking, it wasn’t as nice as I thought. No, I don’t mean the game but the crowd. The whole place seems smaller than it suppose to be, all thanks to the crowd. I don’t even dare to go fast. Skating while turning my head around, keeping my speed slow and try my best not to bump into others makes the whole game more tiring than it should be. In the end, I rather lead my friend around, let her experience the fun of ice skating. Later that night, I went to Petaling Street for some shopping. The weather doesn’t permit us to hang out long therefore we head back early to rest.
So the next day, we went back to the golden giant lion and the Egypt-inspired pyramid venue for another visit. This time we targeted the parks. Yes, it’s Sunway Lagoon. As a Malaysian and someone who travel quite often, this is my second time to KL and my first to step in Selangor. Sounds kinda weird right? Who cares… let’s continue. There we were at Sunway Lagoon. I don’t know about others but I definitely enjoy myself to the max. Well, I’m kinda timid as there are quite a number of rides that I don’t have any nerves to try them out but still I enjoyed the parks very much. It was so much fun than I could imagine. I shall pay another visit someday. Probably I should find another person that as timid as me as my company when the rest make their moves toward the scary rides. Hmmm… it’s not a bad idea after all huh? After an adventurous day, we went dinner at full house and managed to squeeze in some time for Rapunzel. (Rapunzel~ Let down your hair~) Rofl. Gosh, I like Maximus so much.

I have to stop now. My back and muscles ache are torturing me. I thought I hurt my leg only but it seems like I hurt my hands as well. The souvenirs I got for myself are blister, cut and bruise. OUCH!!

Down the runway

Ladies and gentlemen, I’m back! After spending two days rotting at home, it’s time to come out from my comfort zone. I was thinking of updating blog days ago but it seems like the couch potato trait of mine won’t let me off. Anyway here I am today. Most people wished me happy holiday when holiday starts but I do feel kind of disappointed this year. My holiday plan to Taiwan is ruin and no Christmas celebration for me this year. Looks like I have to wait for another year for Christmas. Ok, let’s not talk about the boring and unhappy stuffs. Since the major plans are cancelled, now just concentrate on the minor ones. In fact, I’ve listed out some things to do. First of all, give salt & vinegar a fresh new look. It’s harder than I could imagine so don’t put too much hope in the new look of this page. Next, move some muscles. I mean sports. I’ve managed to get my ass out of the house for couple of rounds jogging around my house but I find that kind of boring. Maybe I should get into polishing my skills in roller blading. Third, Starwalk event. Oh ya, I’ve wrote that before. Ok, skip this topic. Next, hang out with girl friends. The contents are P&C therefore move on to the last thing that I want to mention, watch tones of project runway show.

Gosh, I like season 6 of project runway. Actually, I should say I love Gordana, Carol Hannah, Shirin, Althea, Ra’mon and Logan. These people are amazing. Gordana, she is wonderful lady with a clear mind knowing what should she do and where should she stand. Carol, wasn’t really stands out that much but she a little girl with skillful hands. Her idea is good and mostly appropriate. Shirin, my favourite, she’s a multifunctional creator. I like the fact that she combines fashion with comfort plus functionality of the garments. Althea, her works are really cool. Her idea is great and what’s most important, she’s kind. Well, at least she’s kind on screen. Ra’mon, his creativity wows me. But there are times that he overlooked some styles and there his work goes ‘dead’. Lastly, the cute guy, Logan, his style is cool type which that is my favourite too but he seems to have only one style.
Ok, it’s time for project runway again. Jya~

It took me years to realize the fact that goddess of luck is always by my side.Thank you my lady as you are always there for me. It is good to be alive and to be myself.

self-study week

Time constrain is one matter, but the matter I faced most is limited space in brain. Even if you give me a month to prepare for examination, I don’t think I can make it. After I revised this, I forgot that. Done with that, I don’t seem to remember this!

Now and Then

During daytime, I got excited over some furniture making its way to my house. I got myself a new desk, one that I got to design it myself. I don’t have great brain cells in designing plus the cost would be another factor I need to take care of as well so I go for a simple and mature look for my room. As conclusion I would say the desk looks modern and simple, something that suits my taste. Owning a working desk, not a study table, the feeling is very much different than before. Glanced through my room, those memories of events came to me like slides of pictures being projected at my brain walls. Recalling how I used to sit at that particular corner of my bedroom preparing for major examinations, how I got distracted and took a peep towards living room for entertainment. When all these come to mind, finally I realized I’ve been through many things in life. Wondering did I realize the fact that I’m growing up, I made through so many things, some with supports of friends and some I made it alone. Suddenly I felt the old me is brave, aren’t who I am now. I was so strong then, overcoming all the obstacles alone while constructing a new me. Comparing now and then, I felt that I’m such a coward now. This seems ridiculous. Human shall move forward but me today are a lower quality version than who I am then. Sigh. I better start working now.

Adele: Rise Of The Mummy

Adele: Rise of the mummy is what I spotted outside the cinema today. Basically that’s my only choice of movie to watch because I don’t watch horror movies or animation in cinema. What comes to my mind after read the title of the movie is it would have to be something related to search in tombs, stories about firaun would be told, history of Egypt would come into the picture and some cruel things might happen like sacrifice others for the dead to revive or things like that. The problem with that movie is it progressed too peacefully. Yet, I won’t say watching that movie is a waste. Actually I enjoyed the whole movie. My life full with ups and downs therefore I don’t need to watch anymore of that to make my life interesting. I like the scene it took, Old France, about similar to Old London. I love Old London as much as I love Sherlock Holmes. I don’t consider myself as a big fan but I love the character created by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. Dr Watson and Prof James Moriarty are included in my favorite list. Back to Adele Blanc-sec, the main character was a gorgeous woman. An adventurous, brave, beautiful and intelligent woman she is. Due to the story was set in France, be prepare to allow odd names come across your mind. To my surprise, the movie is actually an adventure comedy from France. The whole stories started with introduction of some characters, a few of them are not very useful characters but it did help to get u a better understanding towards the movie. You can totally be at ease when you watch this. I really love the lady, the story and the settings. A while ago, I mentioned that it’s a comedy. Yes, indeed it is. I wouldn’t say the jokes are real good but it managed to bring some laughter to the audiences. It don’t have to do stupid acts to make the movie funny, looking at Patmosis itself will make you laugh. I love those mummies. You may think mummies are eerie but after you’ve watched this, I bet you’ll think they’re cute. ROFL~
I fell in love with this comic book-to-film adaptation. Now I am getting  interested to read the book.

dinner at park

It has been a while I posted anything about food in Penang. Often I posted about me dined in Secret Recipe, branched in Perlis. If I am not mistaken, the last food post in Penang was the one I had in Mansion 32. Gosh, my saliva drops when the seafood lasagna came to my mind. Accompanied by white wine from Argentina, I bet I can’t find the great taste combination somewhere else. Back on track, I had dinner at Fettes Park and course of the night are western cuisine. Overall the food was quite good. But there were something else I would like to pay attention to, the environment. The decorations are quite unique and the condition of the shop wasn’t air-conditioned but comfortable with tables and chairs made of thick woods. Packed with people during peak dinner hours, you can barely find a place to sit. Ah! I saw something interesting there. They have two size servings for juices listed as normal and large. I ordered a large watermelon as the size of the cup really caught my attention.Scroll down please.

The decorations

Antique bicycles, tables and chairs are hung up on the ceiling. The environment is light up with lamps designed similar to the lamps used in old London era.

The LARGE juice:
0o!!!

Garden Salad & some sizzling chicken

Chicken Gordon Bleu & Grilled Garlic Fish

Lastly, me on shot with my favorite watermelon juice ^^V

Black Glasses

Once I've told someone who often posted lyrics as contents of post that he/she simply entertained his/her readers with lyrics of some songs. Those memories came back to me when I was writing this post while listening to ‘Eru – Black Glasses’.  My lord recommended this song to me but I wasn’t listening then so here I am now, got addicted to it.

Walk

It’s here! It’s back! What else if it’s not the annually event organized by The Star paper. Yes, you guessed it right! Starwalk Penang is BACK! Dated to be flagged off on 12th December 2010 at Penang International Sports Arena (PISA), I decided to start my walk of life toward good physical health on that particular day. Perhaps many of you don’t know, walking is one easy way to stay healthy and strong. You don’t have to have tons of stamina to start walking and this could be done by almost everyone. The best part is the choice is up to yours whether to walk alone or in group and where to walk. Statistic shows that just by walking 30-60 minutes a day may reduce your risk of breast cancer by 20%, heart disease by 30-40%, and diabetes and stroke by 50%. Through such simple action, there are eight benefits to be gained from walking are:

Raise your high-density lipoprotein (HDL) cholesterol (which is the good cholesterol)
Lower your low-density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol (which is the bad cholesterol)
Lower your blood pressure
Reduce symptoms of depression and anxiety
Maintain lean muscle
Increase cardiovascular endurance
Reduce the pain and joint swelling that accompanies arthritis
Increase weight loss and reduce body fat

Searching through the net, I was surprised that walking may help to reduce back pain. According to the article, walking with proper posture, it actually helps to tone the leg muscles that greatly affect the lower back. The stronger the leg muscles are, the stronger the lower back muscles will become which would lead to better supports provided to spinal area. Only by walking in proper posture and proper manner would give out such benefits. This is what proper posture and proper manner means:

Stand up straight and tall, do not lean forward. Leaning is an actual cause of back pain.
Do not look down, keep your eyes looking forward, approximately 15-20 feet ahead you.
To help you look forward, keep your chin up which means the chin is parallel to the ground.
Keep your stomach tight.
Your arms should form a right angle, moving in an opposite direction to your feet and your hands should be in a relaxed curl.
When you start walking, do so with your heel to strike the ground first. Then roll that foot from your heel with your toe pushing off.

Compare this guide to our usual way of walking. I bet not many of us walk in a good posture and manner. Therefore starts today, walk to healthy physical and a happy life.

lost symbol

One of the countless copies of Dan brown’s latest thriller, The Lost Symbol is finally mine on the terrible day. Feeling excited cum depressed, I was lost for words. The book reached my hands just in time. I really need some time to cool myself and reorganize all my thoughts. To be frank, I felt extremely tired at that horrible day yet I continue to read that book as it was too hard to resist. Looking at its cover, it seems like there’s some forces pull you to the book and remain attach to it. Fortunately, the book is understandable to me. Free mason, an organization I suppose it is, accommodates secret symbol addicts. I knew some information about the masons therefore understanding the book wasn’t a tough task. Of all Dan Brown’s book, I specially love the Da Vinci Code, Angels and Demons and of course The Lost Symbol. Some might think I haven’t finish the whole book, how would I know I will like the book for sure? Trust me, you don’t have to complete a book in order to tell whether you love them or not. I missed the first two books that I mentioned before as I was not a book lover yet. And what seems weird is all the three series that make into my favorite list has Robert Langdon as the main lead. Personally I like Robert Langdon’s knowledge and occupation. Unable to deny, Dan Brown is a great author. As I did not mention the other two best sellers, Deception Point and Digital Fortress, doesn’t mean the stories are not attractive as the three, it is the matter of interest. Thank you fellows for that book, also thank you for the thumb drive and the so-call-sculpture. It's time to go back to the book. Jya!

The version that I owned
"To live in the world without becoming aware of the meaning of the world is like wandering about in a great library without touching the books." -The Lost Symbol-

Octopus Paul

I knew I should not be doing this. I mean I won’t be doing this, deducing from my attitude, as I’m not a fan of this creature but somehow it was popular for a certain period therefore I think I should just follow the flow. Paul the Octopus was one of the hit topics during World Cup 2010. Even if you’re not interested in soccer or World Cup, I bet most of you out there know Paul’s existence, unless you are totally disconnected from the world. People from all over the globe been concerned about this octopus (or should I say the results of it prediction?) so much then but how many still keep track on Paul’s news now? It is an octopus after all. So here I am to share news about the psychic octopus. Paul died! RIP Paul. Otsukare samadeshita!! You’re once a wonderful octopus.

Brain

I tend to have fun by doing quizzes, test almost anything about me. Recently due to some assignment, I look deeply into the brains. I eventually enjoy learning about brains as it’s the most secretive labyrinth in human body. Something to share, human may live for a certain period when cerebrum is removed from the body. Strange isn’t it? Well, it can be said so as cerebrum is the part that humans use only to store memories and as long as the part of brain which controls our body systems and heart are remained attached to the body. I don’t know how far the above phrase is true. I’m no professional and I did not do any research about it. It was all my daring assumptions and illogic guess.

The topic I’m about to discuss are a topic that exists for quite some time and manage to attract public’s attention, Left brain vs. Right brain. Left brain dominant and Right brain dominant determines what kind of person you are and may speak out how you act spontaneously. Other than that, it helps you to understand which method is suitable for you when it comes to study or picking up new skill. Often we heard, left hand people are right brain dominant and otherwise for the reason of left part of brain controls right part of the body. However this do not implies to all. I could safely say that I belong to the minorities as I’m a person of right hand dominant with right brain dominant. Sounds odd right? rofl~ in fact all the tests that I’ve done up to this minute shows that I’m a right brain person.

This is something I did at facebook for fun. The result once again shows that I’m right-brain person.
“Of 30 questions, 18 of your responses indicate you are right brained dominant. 12 of your responses are indications of left brain dominance. These results indicate you are predominantly right-brain dominant. The right side of your brain is all about creativity and flexibility. Daring and intuitive, you see the world in their unique way. You likely have a talent for creative writing and art and prefer day dreaming, philosophy, and sports. You make decisions intuitively. The right side of our brain processes information in a rapid, spatial, and perceptual manner. The right hemisphere concentrates more on emotion than logic, allowing you to make quick, spontaneous decisions. You rely on your imagination when finding solutions to problems. You operate in a nonlinear, simultaneous fashion and deal with non-verbal information as well as dreams and fantasy. Thus, you tend to think visually-spatially more than verbally. Occupations: Artist, Athlete, Politician, Beautician, Craftsman, Actor, Wildlife manager, Marketing or sales manager”

Ok, seems like I chose the wrong field of study. If you’re interested to try this, click here. Have fun investigating your brain!!

deeply in love with..

Not a person but sports. If you know me for quite some time, then this is not something new to you. I don’t consider myself as athletic child yet I’m not someone who hates sports either. Depends to my mood of the day to determine what sports I will play. Top in my list there are pool, badminton, swimming and cycling/bike trailing. If I feel like sweating, I’ll go for a badminton game; mood for splashing of course to swim in the pool; if go easy, then pool table will be my favorite choice of place and to enjoy scenic view for sure that will be cycling. Ah~ one more, roller blading/skating if I feel like doing sports alone. It seems confusing right?

Badminton is what I’ll do with my friends no matter where I am. It is the sports that I’m familiar with and something for me to show off with my not-so-good skills. As for swimming, I will only go with friends that I trusted or family members, most of the time I rather go with family. I have the love-hate feelings toward swimming. Until now, I’m unable to swim and I don’t dare to go to middle of the pool due to past experience. Roller blading/skating, not everyone likes it therefore I have to enjoy alone. Pool is something that I get to goof around while enjoying the game without sports attire. Recently I started cycling with friends in university. Unable to deny that perlis is a more suitable place for cycling that penang. Reason one, less pollution. Reason two, more greenies. Reason three, less traffics. The rest I need not to speak anymore. In a group of four, we went to a short cycling trip nearby our hostel. The feeling was so great, makes the trip indescribable with words. Picture speaks thousand words. Let me show you.

CRY my heart out..!! How on earth could this happen to me? An earphone and a headphone broke down in A day. Does my destructive power increase so much to the level that I'm able to terminate a device without touching them? I was listening to Hello using headphone and suddenly it went mute. I'm running out of cash this month yet this happened to me now. Why...? *sob*

urghhh..

Recently I’m into some game called crosswords. But I wasn’t able to solve all on my own. It is tough even at the ‘easy’ level. I know I shouldn’t be doing this now but it is a great way to keep you thinking. Some of the words I learnt are (hint – answer) ruckus – noise, pacified – calmed, kilns – ovens, flabbergast – amaze and etc. For sure this is not the game to play when you are tired. It draws so much energy and concentration out from your body till you couldn’t take it. In the end, you terminate the application and sleep. Yes, that is what happens to me previously. I need a better game to play. My life is getting much dull now and I need some relaxation before cables in my brain snap.
Is there any way to cure headache effectively? I have headache almost every night since the day I am backed to hostel and I need an effective way to cure it. Notice the word I used, NEED not want. :(

dinner at ... for ...

~inizia la grande abbuffata..!! ^^V ~

Yes, yes, yes! The feast has begun. It was two days ago we had family dinner cum gathering in Star View restaurant. Try to match our clothing with the environment left me with no idea of what to wear. It’s kind of embarrassing to say that I have no sense fashion. Anyway, my easiest way to solve it is to consult my sister. The next step, move to her wardrobe and start digging. Not to forget, my mom’s wardrobe too. Well, you couldn’t blame me for being blunt when it comes to fashion as I'm too boyish  =='''

The food? Of course we had the best. With shark fin, “sultan” (?) fish, Peking duck and many more, gosh, I can’t recall all of them.

peek-a-boo cat

I better go get some water before I faint here, I thought.

Weather surrounding my hostel is warm, burning hot to be exact. And here I am, sharing the same personal space with one of my roommates in a store-look-alike-room which happens to be the room that I am staying with another two, concentrate hard in completing my thesis, on the same time try not to get dehydrated, made my move to get water for drinking. Taking along a piece of paper which I intended to throw, I saw a cat sitting on the carpet, just in front of the room at hallway end. The cat is there for a long time, I deduced from how comfortable it looks and how it placed its elegantly-look-butt on the carpet with its legs folded perfectly fit on the side. What came across my mind is I must be seeing sphinx when I first glance through it. Furthermore, it gave me a shock when it moved towards me, hoping that I will open the door for its exit. I was curious, there were people(housemates) walking in and out, standing near to the place where the cat beautified its sitting posture, yet not even one noticed the cat is there. I’ve been staying with the nearly-stink-me-to-death hamsters for months already, and now the cat invaded our hostel with no one bother to chase it out, what makes my hostel life now? It seems like I’ve been part of the animal planet channel or something like that. Ewww…

[Unintentionally, I have set my brain to the long winded mode in order to suit thesis writing process. I’m sorry if the sentences constructed are difficult to catch or there lay mistakes around the post as I wrote this in hurry.  XD]

what makes me envious are

Europe seems to accommodate many tourists from Asia recently. Kyuhyun (kyu) tweeted himself with other SUJU members in Italy. Though glad to hear that they had holidays but he successfully magnetized me with the pictures he took in Italy and embedded the how-i-wish-i-can-be-there thought in my head, left me daydreaming in the end.

Members of Italy tour. The departure of the trip photos are real zest according to Kyu. In Venice

Just another day

Just great! My mini Europe trip has been sabotage by some people who cut down the duration of industrial training. Well, I’ve committed a fault too which is I’m a third year student. I’ve been dreaming myself, landing my foot in Europe for years yet this is what I get in the end. Sigh. Looks like I need to bury this dream for another-don’t-know-how-many years before I have the ability to grant them independently. Till then, I shall concentrate on industrial training and FYP. Be good, nic! (Sigh)

(Unrelated post -
I apologized if this gives you eyesore. While I was studying for my engineers in society test, I tried to relax myself with good looks from Shinee, using only paint. Sorry to say that I don’t have any artistic feature nor creativity. And the pictures I got from Internet, credits to those who upload them.)

the night before..

0.o! Penang as smoke-free state? (clap clap)
The idea above is good indeed. If this could be carry out successfully, that really makes Penang a cleaner, healthier and less-polluted state. (The Star, 28th Sept 2010)
I came across the news above while we’re having early dinner celebration with one of my friend in university. Looked back on the things we have done that night, the theme of the night is laugh-til-we-golek. To achieve that, we have been discussing our personal opinions towards politic, social, economy and food of course. Not to forget, the fairytale of ‘mushroom and monk’. In short, it was a fantastic, joyful, lovable and calming night.

Once we got our seats, monkey acts have begun..

O? Dinner is here. Revealing the menu for the night:

For cy - spagh….? Opps..! (my mistake)

Reattempt: spaghetti meatball with hot milk. (So healthy)

For Tian - grilled black pepper chicken with espresso. (coffee addict >,<'')

As for me, dory fillet with lobster sauce (something like that) with grapetiser. (nice bottle right?)

For dessert, high-fiber cheese cake! (omg! Full!)

After food, why not try showing off some photography skills?

…….

Errr..ok, we have no solid skills. Haih, back to gossip! Pssttt..bla bla bla..!
That's our night! What a lovable get-to-gather! hahahahahaha..
Last but not least, HAPPY BIRTHDAY, YIYI! xxx
